MY L.NIGERS arrived!!!!

Beitragvon Alex-B » 9. Apr 2008 18:34

YAAAAY
HOOOOORAY
THEY ARRIVED!!!

1.Can the queen climb the glass wall?
2.If i connect the test tube (16-17 workers 1 queen) to the farm will rthey not die of starvation because there would be no place to put the food?
TY

Some other questions i have due to their behaviour!

1. I put 2 drops of honey mixed with 3 drops of water(in wool) in the feeding dish and 2 ants came up and examined and put there noses on and climbed on it. Is this Feeding?
If not can i just put a drop of honey (no water) in the feeding dish with more wool?

Every thing else seems pretty good!!
ill try to get some pics of the setup maybe!!

They will probably eat the eggs to. So i don't think it would harm to give the eggs to your ants.

Glad for you Alex.

Yes the queen can climb glass wall.

It is better to put the tube into the out world, that way you can feed them and they can stay in the tube until they like to move. (connect the out world with the farm)

Ive got the clay granuals at the bottom with a straw down the side and sand but when i put the water in the hole straw fills up and overflows there dosent seem to be much moisture getting to the bottom.

You are probably pouring the water to fast, and the air is not having a chance to escape, so it forms bubbles n blocks the tube, n then over flows

Pour it very slowly, a tiny trickle at a time, until about half the sand has darkened slightly, then leave it for a couple of hours, and the water should soak into the rest of it :)
